The Pirate of New Orleans
Jean Lafitte
New Orleans wouldn't be New Orleans without Jean Lafitte.
About Jean Lafitte
He was a man of mystery, most pirates are. That is part of what made them interesting and legends. Jean was one of the most celebrated and romantic figures. He was a man of mystery who led an army of privateers out to Barataria Bay where he assisted Andrew Jackson save the city at the battle of New Orleans in 1812. He captured the imagination of the city and those who cherish the city as well.
He was alternately know for being and cold blooded criminal and a smuggler. He was known for being charming, swagger, and unapologetically follows his own rules. (Scott,2018)
